Bart the Bear died comfortably in his Utah home on May 10, 2000 surrounded by his Seus family and friends. Bart was just over 23 years old and has touched many of our lives by his presence in dozens of feature films, documentaries, commercials and television shows. Bart was a Kodiak brown bear adopted by Doug and Lynne Seus in 1977 weighing just 5 pounds. He had been born in a zoo to orphaned parents. Twenty three years later, Bart weighed in at approximately 1500 pounds and stood some 9.5 feet tall. Our hearts go out to the Seus family and to Bart, you will be missed, yet not forgotten.
